The Witcher fans wonder if Yennefer regains her magic in Season 2. What's happened to her powers? Does she get her magic back? How did Yennefer of Vengerberg lose her powers? Let's find out.

Anya Chalotra plays Yennefer of Vengerberg, one of the key protagonists in the Netflix series The Witcher. As the inaugural season unfolds, she develops into one of the most formidable magic users.

She employs deadly fire magic to demolish the Nilfgaardian Empire's hostile troops at the Battle of Sodden Hill. Those who recognized her after it, especially Geralt of Rivia, believe she is deceased.

She is unharmed but has been kidnapped by the sorceress Fringilla Vigo and the remnant Nilfgaardian forces, as shown in the season 2 premiere.

An Elven scouting group ambushes them later. The Elves assassinate the soldiers and deliver Yennefer and Fringilla to Francesca, an elf wizard. The three ladies are experiencing similar dreams, it is disclosed.

They come across the Deathless Mother, also known as Voleth Meir, an old demon confined in a hut by the first witchers.

Yennefer realizes she has lost her link to Chaos, a sort of primitive power used by mages to create spells, after the meeting. Yennefer is unable to use magic without Chaos. We've got you covered if you're wondering if she'll ever regain her magic.

The Witcher: Does Yennefer Get Her Magic Back in Season 2?

Yes, Yennefer of Vengerbeg reclaims her magic in the second season of The Witcher. The entity's presence continues to resurface in Yennefer's consciousness after her experience with Voleth, alluding to and recommending that she do specific things.

When she is scheduled to execute Cahir Mawr Dyffryn aep Ceallach, she frees him on Voleth's suggestion. Despite this, she decides to stand firm against the demon's mockery and taunting.

She accepts to do the demon's work in return for regaining passage to Chaos after being apprehended by local guards in the city of Oxenfurt and warned she will be executed. Voleth summons her away, telling her that once she delivers Ciri to the monolith that he destroyed, she will reclaim her magic.

Yennefer realizes that Ciri is The Witcher aka Geralt's Child Surprise after reconciling with Geralt at the Temple of Melitele and meeting her. Yennefer is instantly torn about what she should do, but when the fire mage Rience, who is also after Ciri and Geralt, strikes, she instructs Ciri how to perform a doorway spell and departs the temple with her.

Ciri is unaware that Yennefer has just abandoned her and Geralt. Ciri is persuaded to travel to Cintra by her. However, as they journey, she starts to recognize the relationship that exists between Geralt and Ciri, and she starts to see Ciri as the incredible young lady that she is.

Despite Yennefer's refusal to obey Voleth, the latter escapes her cage and takes possession of Ciri. Ciri is freed from Coleth's poisonous influence after Yennefer makes a sacrifice and drags the demon into her body.

The demon ultimately leaves Yennefer's body after Ciri moves herself, Geralt, and a possessed Yennefer to a different realm. Yennefer realizes that her link to Chaos has been re-established when they travel to their realm. Yennefer's magic is eventually restored as a result of her sacrifice for the little princess.
