The Witcher: Who is the Deathless Mother in Season 2?

The Deathless Mother on The Witcher Season 2 on Netflix is a demon named Voleth Meir who frees Yennefer's corpse and joins the Wild Hunt. Fans wonder about Deathless Mother's wiki plus her role in The Witcher game and books.

Season 2 of The Witcher has finally arrived, and viewers have been waiting for it for a relatively long time. The Netflix high-fantasy show is built on the same-named computer games, which are centered on a novel series by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski.

The Witcher depicts Geralt of Rivia, a "witcher" or supernatural monster hunter. Sorceress Yennefer of Vengerberg, another key protagonist in Season 2, is on a mission to reclaim her authority after squandering it at the conclusion of the past season.

The Deathless Mother, a brand new character in The Witcher world (just as Adjoa Andoh's Nenneke and Vesemir actor Kim Bodnia), has sworn to help her reclaim it, but are her motives pure? Here's all we know about the Deathless Mother.

The Witcher Season 2: Who is the Deathless Mother?

The Deathless Mother is initially revealed to the fans in the second episode of Season 2 titled Kaer Morhen. In the nightmares of Yennefer, Fringilla, and Francesca, she emerges as a hooded figure taking them to a cabin in the woods with no locks. You must also say a terrifying spell to glimpse of her of your own volition.

Behold the mother of forests, the Deathless Mother, nesting in dreams. Turn your back to the forest, hut, hut. Turn your front to me, hut, hut.

Fringilla's first assumption that the Deathless Mother is a malevolent witch rather than an ancient Elven divinity appears to be foreshadowed. Each figure is brought inside the hut one after another, and the Deathless Mother tells what each person desires most in the universe in exchange for negotiations.

Yennefer is desperate to reclaim her authority, but she immediately rejects the Deathless Mother's proposal. The Deathless Mother becomes enraged and psychologically alienates Yennefer.

Yennefer risks punishment for her sorcery in Episode 5, Turn Your Back, but finally flees by drawing on the Deathless Mother. Before changing into Ciri, the witch emerges in her actual form and tells Yennefer.

I'm the key to you getting your power back. And a great deal more than that. All you have to do is deliver me to the right lock. A shattered back door just outside Cintra. Find me. Steal me.

Ciri's rank as the Princess of Cintra and her abilities have made her a key target of The Witcher. Because it's revealed in Season 2 that Ciri's adversaries have been awaiting her to return to her hometown and kidnap her, the Deathless Mother's efforts to seduce Yennefer into turning Ciri pans out badly.

Yennefer, on the other hand, feels unable to relinquish Ciri, knowing how much she matters to Geralt. Rather, the Deathless Mother, who is essentially a demon named Voleth Meir, can free herself from her mortal enslavement without Ciri's help.

She then takes possession of Ciri, forcing Geralt and Yennefer to fight hordes of creatures in an attempt to exorcise the demon from Ciri's flesh. Yennefer presents herself to be possessed instead of Ciri in a last-ditch bid, and the demon retreats to Yennefer for a brief moment.

Ciri, Geralt, and Yennefer (with Voleth Meir within her) are teleported to Voleth's homeworld, where Voleth frees Yennefer's corpse and joins the Wild Hunt. Yennefer, Geralt, and Ciri are reunited at the end of the season, free of the demon's grip.
