Similarly, JJ was adopted when she was married to her fourth husband. Lori and her fifth husband, Chad Daybell, got arrested on the charge of murdering Tylee and JJ. According to the latest update, the couple is currently waiting for their trial in January 2023. Follow to know about Lori Vallow's family in detail.

Due to the attention-grabbing nature of the case at its center, Netflix's most recent real crime docuseries, Sins of Our Mother, has been receiving a lot of media attention. It's common for Netflix docuseries and documentary films to focus on crimes from the past, but Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell haven't even faced trial for the numerous accusations made against them.

In fact, a lot of people have been following this story from the start and recall when J.J. Vallow, and Tylee Ryan, two of Lori's kids, were first reported missing. The situation became even odd when Lori was discovered in Hawaii with her husband Chad Daybell as if her children weren't missing. Given that the matter is still pending and won't go to trial until early 2023, Sins of Our Mother can only go so far into exploring it, but for those who are unfamiliar, it serves as a good review and summary.

The presence of Colby Ryan, Lori Vallow's sole remaining son, who provides context on his mother, their relationship, and his family history preceding the tragic killings of J.J. and Tylee, may be the most intriguing element of the docuseries. As the incident revolves around Lori and her children, let's dig deep into the incident and know about her dead kids, and son Colby, in detail.

Talking about her kids, Lori Vallow had 2 biological children and one adopted child. According to Wikipedia, Lori's first child/son, Colby Ryan, was a result of her marriage with her second husband, William Lagiola, and was born in 1996. Later Joseph Anthony Ryan Jr., Lori's third husband, formally adopted Colby. Tylee Ashlyn Ryan, a daughter of Lori and Joseph Anthony Ryan Jr., was born on September 24, 2002. Lastly, Joshua Jaxon "J.J." Vallow was adopted by her and Charles Vallow, her fourth husband, on May 25, 2012.

Lori Vallow and her kids moved out of Arizona in September 2019 to be closer to Chad Daybell. JJ and Tylee both disappeared in the same year. According to the police, Tylee's last known photograph was taken while she was visiting Yellowstone National Park with Lori, JJ, and Alex. Lori made up stories about where her children were to calm questions and worries from the family. While she informed certain members of her family and friends that Tylee was visiting family, others heard that she had enrolled at the Idaho campus of Brigham Young University.

Additionally, Lori said JJ was staying with Melanie Gibb, a close friend of hers. Melanie Gibb later admitted to investigators that JJ wasn't with her. Gibb claimed that she overheard Lori describe her two kids as zombies.

Tammy Daybell, Chad's ex-wife, passed away peacefully in October 2019 from natural causes. But after Lori and Chad quickly got married two weeks later, investigators started to wonder if foul play was involved in Tammy's death. The Daybell children requested that an autopsy not be done. They believed their mother passed away naturally because of her bad health at the time of her passing.

Officials located Lori Vallow and Chad Daybell in Kauai, Hawaii, on January 25, 2020. They then presented Lori with a court order requesting that she present her children within five days. Since Lori was unable to complete the order, she was taken into custody on February 20, 2020. She was sent to Idaho by extradition two weeks later.

Tylee and JJ's whereabouts and security remained unknown despite the arrest. Local law enforcement officers examined Chad's property on June 9, 2020, and discovered the bodies of both kids. Tylee had been buried in the Daybells' pet cemetery, while JJ had been buried behind a tree.

For the deaths of JJ and Tylee, Chad and Lori were formally charged with first-degree murder on May 25, 2021. Chad was also charged with murder in Tammy's death. He submitted a not guilty plea to every accusation.

Lori Vallow was also accused of planning to murder Charles on June 29, 2021. But after a judge ruled that she was mentally unable to stand trial and sent her for treatment, her case was put on hold. A few months later, the prosecution declared that Chad would be sentenced to death. He is being held in custody while awaiting trial.

Judge Steven Boyce ruled on April 11, 2022, that Lori Vallow is mentally fit to stand trial. A few days later, Lori declined to plead guilty to murder, leading the judge to submit a not guilty plea on her behalf. The two parties' joint trial is scheduled to start in January 2023. Chad has also entered a not guilty plea to accusations of murder, conspiracy, and grand theft.
