Who is in the Cast of Young Wallander Season 2?

The second season of Young Wallander returned to Netflix this week. Here's a look at some of the cast members that are returning, despite the addition of some new faces to the cast.

Adam Pålsson as Kurt Wallander

Kurt Wallander, a rookie police officer in modern-day Sweden, is his main character. Wallander is a well-known fictional detective who was involved in a significant case in the first season, which started him on the path to becoming the more world-weary version of the character we are familiar with.

Adam Palsson (@palssonsbygg) from Young Walander has appeared in a number of projects, including the 2012 mini-series Don't Wipe Tears Without Gloves. In 2019, Adam also appeared in a TV series called Before We Die, in which he portrayed the role of Christian.

Yasen Atour as Reza

Reza Al-Rahman is Yasen Atour's (@yasenatour) character in the Netflix series. In the Malmo police department, Reza is Wallander's partner, and the two have a good connection. He also had a role in another Netflix series, The Witcher, in which he plays Coen.

In an interview with Vanity Teen, he revealed that one of his greatest benefits from playing has been being sent all over the world and meeting people "you would never have come into contact with otherwise."

Leanne Best as Frida Rask

Leanne Best (@lealeabest) returns to Young Wallander as her character Frida Rask. Frida is one of Wallander's superiors, and she may be ruthless when it comes to Wallander's maverick inclinations, but she also admires his detective abilities.

Doctors, New Tricks, Line of Duty, and Black Mirror are just a few of the popular screenplays in which the Young Wallander alum has appeared. She also appeared in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death.

Ellise Chappell as Mona

Ellise Chappell (@ellisehere) returns to the series and portrays the role of Mona. Mona was working for a charity that attempts to improve circumstances for Malmo's immigrant population when we first saw her in season one, and she met Wallander while counter-protesting at a right-wing March.

The two began out to a rocky start, but their friendship quickly blossomed into a romantic bond. In 2016, she played Jennifer Strange in the film The Last Dragonslayer. Between 2017 and 2019, she played Morwenna Carne in Poldark.

Tomiwa Edun as Superintendent Samuel Osei

Samuel Osei has taken over as the chief of Wallander's division from the assassinated Superintendent Hemberg, and he takes a different approach than his predecessor, insisting on strict adherence to protocol at all times.

Tomiwa Edun (@tomiwa.edun) from Young Wallander is a Nigerian actor who has appeared in films such as Merlin and Bates Motel. He is most known for his role as Alex Hunter's voice in FIFA 17, FIFA 18, and FIFA 19. He's also appeared in Doctor Who and What Happened to Monday.

What is Young Wallander Season 2: Killer's Shadow about?

Wallander is "adrift and uncertain of the future following his resignation from the police force," according to the official Netflix synopsis for Young Wallander season 2.

When a new Superintendent, Samuel Osei, assumes command of the Major Crimes Team, an opportunity to rejoin the unit emerges. Wallander accepts the offer and is assigned to a case that appears to be simple: a hit-and-run outside a nightclub.

However, when the victim is linked to an iconic murder case handled by Frida Rask eight years ago, Wallander feels there's more to this tragedy than meets the eye. He refuses to back down in his quest for the truth, even when his research brings him to people who may kill his career in an instant.
