Welcome to Eden Filming Locations: Island, Circular House & More!

Most of the scenes of Netflix's Welcome to Eden (originally titled Bienvenidos an Edén) were filmed on the island of Puerto del Carmen, Spain. However, other filming locations include Barcelona, Teruel, and San Sebastián. The circular house is also located in Teruel. Follow the article to know about Welcome to Eden filming locations in detail.

Because it is easier for someone to go missing in the far places, thriller dramas frequently feature remote islands. Welcome to Eden (originally titled Bienvenidos an Eden) on Netflix is a stylish and frightening thriller series created by Joaquin Gorriz and Guillermo López Sánchez that brings us to one such unknown island.

With the inquisition, Zoa and four attractive young adults receive a word from Eden, and their lives take a dark turn. They arrive on Eden, which appears to be a beautiful island ideal for partying. However, when they drink the Blue Eden, the island transforms into a claustrophobic nightmare.

Welcome to Eden is Netflix's newest thriller series, and it stars a cast of colorful characters in a plot set on an isolated island ruled by individuals who abduct young men and women in order to establish their own civilization there. While the series is set on an island, it also includes scenes from other locations. So, let's find out about the filming locations of Welcome to Eden.

Previously, we touched on Blue Eden and Mayka actress Lola Rodriguez.

Where Was Netflix’s Welcome to Eden Filmed?

The thing with Welcome to Eden is that it is largely set on an island, which means that the series was shot on only the best beaches and island paradises. Of course, the series allows viewers to gain a deeper understanding of Spain's natural treasures and beautiful beaches.

Despite the fact that the people in Welcome to Eden are imprisoned in an endless nightmare, the sites where the series was filmed are well worth a visit in person.

The majority of Welcome to Eden was filmed in Spain, specifically at Puerto del Carmen, Barcelona, Teruel, and San Sebastián. The show's storyline is set against the beautiful beaches of the Canaries and the cityscapes of mainland Spain. The first season's main filming began in February 2021 and appeared to end in early May 2021. Let's now know the locations in detail.

Puerto del Carmen, Spain

Given that a significant portion of Welcome to Eden takes place on an island, it was only natural to select a filming site that could depict the idyllic setting in which the majority of the series is situated.

The production crew visited the Canary Islands' scenic Puerto del Carmen. The tourist town is located on the island of Lanzarote's southeast coast. It's the ideal setting for a presentation like this, especially since the visuals feature some idyllic panoramas.

The cast and crew of Season 1 made full advantage of the lovely Playa Chica beach, where some key sequences were shot. According to sources, the production team planned to film a few shots on the Caletón Blanco beach for the first season. However, due to permit complications, they had to leave Lanzarote sooner than intended.

Barcelona, Spain

Moreover, a substantial portion of the show is filmed in Barcelona, which is located on Spain's northeastern coast. Catalonia's capital is noted for its diverse art and architecture. Barcelona is a popular filming location due to its stunning cityscape and pleasant weather throughout the year. Heirs to the Land, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, and Hanna are just a few of the well-known films and TV shows that have been filmed in the city.

Barcelona was chosen as one of the locations where the series was filmed in Welcome to Eden because several of the episodes were set in the city. Gaby, Zoa's younger sister, also spent some time traveling the beautiful city of Barcelona in the hopes of raising her social media profile while searching for her missing sister.

Other Locations in Spain

For filming purposes, the thriller show's production staff even travels to other towns in Spain. Teruel, in the autonomous community of Aragon, is one of these places. It is the capital of the same-named province. This is a high-altitude village with a unique blend of Islamic and Gothic architecture. The circular house is also located here. In that way, this is a popular destination for travelers who wish to feel like they've been transported back in time.

San Sebastián, commonly known as Donostia-San Sebastián, was another location where parts of the scenes from Welcome to Eden were filmed. Given its location in the north of the Basque Country, on the south-eastern shore of the Bay of Biscay, this city and municipality in the Basque Autonomous Community are well noted for its gorgeous beaches.
