Fans wonder how did Jon Gould die as they look up more info on his death and relationship with Andy Warhol after watching the Netflix original The Andy Warhol Diaries. Find out what happened to Paramount executive "John Gould" and his cause of death (pneumonia triggered by AIDS). Other queries include Jon Gould's obituary, wiki, and his brother Jay Gould.

While the world has been talking about the release of Inventing Anna, a documentary on real-life con artist Anna Delvey, Netflix has published a stunning and emotive look into The Andy Warhol Diaries.

Following the lead of Pat Hackett's published journals of the same name, this short docuseries offers a glimpse into some of the pop-art icon's essential essences as expressed in his diaries.

The Andy Warhol Diaries, directed by Andrew Rossi, is a Netflix docuseries that is based on Pat Hackett's eponymous memoir and delves into the life and times of Andy Warhol, shedding light on lesser-known facets of his personal relationships.

One of his most publicized relationships was with Jon Gould, however, the two rarely spoke about their relationship in public. Interested in learning more about Warhol's delightful companion? Let's learn more about him.

Previously, we touched on Jean-Michel Basquiat, Jed Johnson, and Valerie Solanas.

How Did Jon Gould Die? The Cause of Death was AIDS!

The Andy Warhol Diaries portrays every relationship Andy had in his career. One of them was with Jon Gould. Jon and Andy began spending time together on family ski excursions and social gatherings.

Jon Gould moved in with Warhol in the latter's New York City townhouse after a few years of dating. However, in 1985, he and Warhol parted up, and the artist had a difficult time coming to terms with the breakup.

Jon Gould died on September 18, 1986, at the age of 33. Pat Hackett reported an unknown source in an editor's note in The Andy Warhol Diaries, who reported he died after an extended illness.

AIDS deaths were covered in a euphemistic manner in the newspapers at the time, especially in the memorials of people who were not publicly gay.

Jon Gould died in Los Angeles, California, of AIDS-related pneumonia, salmonella bacteremia, and cryptococcal meningitis, where he had returned after his separation with Warhol.

Hackett delivers a brief but devastating portrait of Jon Gould's state at the time of his death. Gould had traveled to Nepal the previous year in pursuit of Eastern medicine treatment for his illness. She explains:

He was down to seventy pounds and he was blind. He denied even to close friends that he had AIDS.

Warhol's diaries indicate that the artist was aware of his boyfriend's health. Warhol wrote on February 4, 1984, that he was doing a personal errand with Jon Gould. Hackett mentioned that Gould had been admitted to the hospital that day with pneumonia.

Though you can't get HIV/AIDS by washing your clothing with someone who has it, this is indicative of the fear and misinformation that arose in the mid-1980s as a result of the government's unwillingness to address the disease publicly.

Warhol was well-known for being concerned about AIDS. He avoided AIDS-affected friends and was less active in AIDS campaigning than his gay New York artists.

Some critics, however, have regarded Warhol's final Last Supper series (which began just days after Jon Gould's death) as a manner of dealing with his ex-boyfriend's death.

The Andy Warhol Diaries: Everything You Need To Know About the New Netflix Series

Here's a little introduction on Andy Warhol for those who are unfamiliar with the artist. Andy Warhol was a unique artist, filmmaker, and producer. In the 1950s, he was a key figure in the visual art movement known as pop art. Advertising, celebrity culture, art, photography, and silk-screening were all important to Warhol.

When it comes to biographical documentaries, Netflix has a large collection of its own, and they are always attempting to grow it. The Andy Warhol Diaries, a forthcoming series, is another addition to the list. The docuseries premiered on March 9, 2022, and has been popular since its release.

Meanwhile, Pat Hackett, a friend & collaborator of Warhol, published Warhol's memoirs after his death. After being shot in the fall of 1976, Warhol began communicating to Hackett on the phone every morning, giving a vivid and profound account of the previous day's events. His last recorded discussion took place on February 17, 1987, just five days before he died.

The incidents began on November 24, 1976, and ended five days before his death on February 17, 1987. Warhol's childhood in Pittsburgh, his flawless work, his relationships with Jean-Michel Basquiat and others, and the assassination attempt on his life in 1968 will all be covered in the documentary.
