The Andy Warhol Diaries: Jon Gould Paramount Executive Untold Story!

Paramount executive Jon Gould's life story is featured on The Andy Warhol Diaries on Netflix. He tragically lost his life to AIDS in 1986. Online queries surround Jon Gould's Paramount life, death to AIDS, Wikipedia, obituary, movies, wiki, and pictures. Some misspell his name as John Gould.

Exec producer Ryan Murphy and filmmaker Andrew Rossi present this six-part documentary, The Andy Warhol Diaries on Netflix, about Andy Warhol's legacy. It recounts Warhol's life via the lens of the artist's subsequently publicized diaries.

While Warhol flourished in the celebrity spotlights, his diaries exposed followers to a side of the artist that is less well-known. One aspect of Warhol's life that has been covered in the diaries and docuseries is his love life.

With the third section devoted to his relationship with Jon Gould, you may be interested in learning more about Warhol's ex-partner.

If you're yet to watch all of the episodes of The Andy Warhol Diaries, consider this a spoiler alert. All episodes will be addressed in detail as we learn what transpired with Jon Gould.

Previously, we touched on Jean-Michel Basquiat and Valerie Solanas.

Who was Jon Gould, Paramount Executive?

When Jon Gould bumped into Andy Warhol, he was a young executive at Paramount. They initially stumbled across each other in November 1980 at a New York event. When they started their romance, Gould was 27 while Warhol was already in his 50s.

Gould grew up in a family of New Englanders. The Goulds resided on a 900-acre estate near Amesbury, Massachusetts, that was established in the 17th century by direct forebearers. They also had a vacation residence in New Hampshire, and footage from it appears in The Andy Warhol Diaries.

Despite the fact that Gould was one of Warhol's last passions and inspirations, there's been minimal discussion of their relationship. "No one wants to talk about the Jon Gould story," states a respondent in episode 3.

A Double Life: Andy & Jon is the name of the third installment of The Andy Warhol Diaries. The episode delves into Andy Warhol's and Jon Gould's romantic ties. The previous episode went into great detail on Warhol's 12-year association with Jed Johnson (and his tragic death).

Jerry Hall stated in the episode that Warhol was crushed when he and Jed split up, that was awful, and he doesn't think he even had another partner after that.

Fundamentally, Warhol's interaction with Jon Gould was distinctive. Gould was not just 'in the closet' when he encountered Warhol, but he would stay so for the duration of their affair. It's confusing since Jon attempts to retain a 'straight' image, Warhol once wrote in his diary. He attempts to convince him that he is not gay.

He was courted after Jed Johnson stepped out of their shared apartment. Andy’s diary voiceover reads: “I sent flowers to Jon Gould, the gay executive at Paramount Pictures who Chris (Christopher Makos) introduced me to. I want him to advertise in Interview Magazine.”

Their relationship was eventually stunted by their work together at Paramount.

The Andy Warhol Diaries: What Happened to Jon Gould?

Andy Warhol and Jon Gould were in a relationship until 1985 when it was ended prematurely due to tragedy. Jon Gould was diagnosed with AIDS in February 1984. Their connection suffered as a result of the sickness, which was exacerbated by Warhol's phobia of illness.

Gould returned to Los Angeles in 1985 and died the following year at the age of 33. Up until his death, Gould denied having AIDS to close friends.
