Does Dion's Mom Die in Raising Dion? Nicole's Fate in Season 2 Explained!

Dion's mom Nicole Warren does not die in Raising Dion Season 2 as Dion defeats the crooked energy using the antidote vial, saving everyone who has been infected by the monster. Know what actually was causing the infection and Pat's determination to prove himself.

Raising Dion is a Netflix amusing superhero series as it offers an intriguing idea since it tells the narrative of a single mother (Alisha Wainwright) and her attempts to raise a child with superhuman skills. It is an adaptation of Dennis Liu's 2015 comic book and a short film of the same name.

Following the loss of her husband, Mark, she does everything she can to keep her child safe. Dark forces, on the other hand, are on the lookout for Dion to use his abilities for their own evil schemes.

The famous show's new season is now available on Netflix, and it features Nicole facing an unavoidable risk in order to save her son. However, Nicole gets infected by some strange flowers in the sinkhole. Does she survive? Let's find it below.

Previously, we touched on Season 3, Rome's parents, Kwame, Kimiko Flynn, Tevin Wakefield, and Rome Flynn's wife.

Does Dion's Mom Nicole Die in Raising Dion Season 2?

Nicole (Alisha Wainwright) is infected by the strange flowers in the sinkhole in the second half of Raising Dion Season 2. The origins of these blossoms are never explained, but once infected, the person transforms into an unrecognizable monster that stampedes through the town.

BIONA attempts and tries to come up with a cure for the virus but is unable to do so. Nicole runs out of time since the serum they make kills the host.

Suzanne administers a serum to Nicole in three little doses to prevent her from becoming a monster. The only drawback is that she will die in 36 hours, so she must make the most of her time here.

Nicole believes that injecting the serum into the sinkhole will stop the infections. Dion enters the sinkhole via teleportation and injects the serum. And it works; all of the monsters revert to their former human forms, and Dion retains his mother's presence in his life.

Nicole's death was a clumsy attempt by the series, and it could have benefited from more depth. At the very least, she isn't dead. For Dion, that would have been devastating. This plot element is underdeveloped and emotionally devoid.

This should have been the climax of Season 2, but instead, it appears to be a non-event. It should have been a heartbreaking narrative of a boy who was going to lose his mother due to unforeseen circumstances.

What was Causing the Infection?

People are infected with the bright green spores of the weird flowers sprouting in the sinkhole that grew up on the football field throughout Season 2 of Raising Dion. That sinkhole emerges in the same location where Dion battled the Crooked Man two years ago.

The flowers blossom as a result of the Crooked Man (who had hitched a ride with Brayden) infusing his energy into the sinkhole's ground, causing the blooms to bloom.

The spores released by the blooms, on the other hand, are not part of a botanical reproduction cycle at all, but rather microscopic bits of Crooked Man energy. Once they dig beneath a person's skin, they gradually infect their hosts, turning them into mindless Crooked Man tools.

This is how the Crooked Man plans to grow his army, as he describes it to Brayden, and it also explains why Brayden is able to control the infected in the last episode.

They are all just appendages used by the Crooked Man to defeat Dion and achieve power, much like Brayden himself.

Was Pat Really Trying to Help Nicole?

Pat explains why he was returning to BIONA in Season 2 as he watched the Crooked Man kill someone on the news. He explains that he wants to help as the former host of the Crooked Man energy.

Pat even leads the team to try to find a treatment for Nicole's condition after she is infected by the Crooked Man spores. When Pat's antidote fails, he is removed from the project and replaced by other BIONA experts.

He injects himself with a concoction of superpowered DNA in retribution, which he then unleashes against BIONA.

Pat considers himself as a decent guy who is entitled to some form of reward anytime he accomplishes something good during both seasons. He believes that assisting Nicole with Dion and offering emotional support qualifies him for a love connection in Season 1.

Pat later feels that his contributions to finding a cure would earn him forgiveness from Nicole, Dion, and BIONA in Season 2. He grows enraged and seeks vengeance when he does not receive what he believes is his due.

So, while he's undoubtedly wanting to find a treatment for Nicole, it's more likely that he's looking for her forgiveness and maybe even affection in return. Pat doesn't appear to be inspired to do the right thing just because it's the right thing to do.
