The release date of Netflix's Stranger Things Season 5 has not been revealed yet, however, we can expect the last season of the series to be coming out in late 2023 or early 2024. Season 5 is the last chapter of the hit series. Additionally, the writers of the show have already started writing the scripts for the final season.
Stranger Things has already had four seasons released on Netflix, with the fourth season being split into two volumes. The sci-fi horror series is still running, despite the fact that Season 4's episodes were lengthier than those from Seasons 1 through 3, and now that fans from all over the world are wondering when Stranger Things Season 5 will be released.
The wait between Seasons 3 and 4 of Stranger Things was almost three years, but it was worth it. Off-screen, the characters appeared to age, but the fourth season's events would affect anyone, especially when trying to rescue the planet is concerned.
The Season 4 conclusion predicted disaster for the small community of Hawkins, Indiana. Regarding the fifth and last season of their science fiction drama series, The Duffer Brothers have already begun to drop hints. So, when is it coming out? Here is everything we know about the release date of the Netflix series.
Previously, we touched on Millie Bobby Brown's plastic surgery rumors, Charlie Heaton's ethnicity, and who Sadie Sink is dating in 2022.
Stranger Things Season 5 Release Date: The Last Season Might Be Coming Out in Late 2023 or Early 2024!
The Duffer Brothers recently hinted that the writing part of Stranger Things Season 5 has already begun. Even if we don't have the exact release date, we can expect the last season to be coming out in late 2023 or early 2024.
The Duffers indicated that Season 4 would be the series' penultimate season and that Season 5 would be its final chapter when the release dates for Season 4 were revealed. They described the strategy that was set forth when the show initially began in a letter to the viewers.
According to the Duffer brothers, the Season 5 writer's room will open its doors in August. Then, shooting could begin in late 2022 or early 2023. In an interview with Collider, Russ Duffer explained,
We're going to take a little vacation in July. And then we're going to come back. I know that the writer's room is going to start in that first week of August.
The fifth and final season's log was written on a whiteboard, and it was posted by the Stranger Things writing staff on their official Twitter account in early August 2022. It probably hinted that the writers are already into the scripts for the final season.
The Duffers have the rest of the series planned out, but given how much time and money goes into producing a global phenomenon like Stranger Things, it'll be some time before we see anything concrete on our screens. This is a devastating realization given the emotional toll that the final two episodes of season four exacted.
Additionally, there is good news for everyone, especially for those who want to see more of their favorite Hawkins locals as soon as possible. The Duffer Brothers also announced that the majority of Season 5 will take place in Hawkins, Indiana, where it all began.
With the exception of Dr. Martin Brenner, who was killed by Colonel Sullivan's soldiers in the New Mexico desert at the end of Season 4, the majority of the crew who had left the small town had returned in some way. And it really appears like a massive war is on the horizon with the Upside Down encroaching on Hawkins in a dramatic way.
The fourth season's filming was completed in September 2021, and it premiered in late May 2022, or around eight months later. It's possible that Season 5 won't air until late 2023 at the earliest, depending on when filming starts and ends.
However, let's consider that the show calls for numerous special effects, so post-production could take longer, particularly for the final season. It wouldn't be shocking if Season 5 of Stranger Things arrives on Netflix in 2024 or later since it is likely to be just as large or longer than Season 4.
