Michelle Visage underwent breast reduction surgery in 2019 to remove her breast implants. Her battle with Hashimoto's disease was the main driving force behind her breast reduction surgery. Her recuperation was challenging and took four weeks to complete.

Michelle Visage is an American singer, actress, producer, broadcaster, and television personality. She first rose to fame as a member of the band Seduction, which had five Billboard Hot 100 songs. The S.O.U.L. S.Y.S.T.E.M., a group she later joined, peaked at number one on the dance charts in 1993 with their single It's Gonna Be a Lovely Day. In addition, Visage has made appearances on RuPaul's Drag Race and The RuPaul Show, where she has been a judge since the third season.

The multi-talented entertainer, who has had a big impact on the music and entertainment industries, has been extremely transparent about her plastic surgery surgeries. She has admitted to having breast surgery but since she had a breast reduction surgery in 2019, fans have been wondering why she had her breast implants removed. In her early 20s, the singer had her breast implants placed according to People, but she soon started to suffer from a variety of Hashimoto's symptoms, such as exhaustion, weight gain, joint discomfort, and digestive problems.

Although her physicians and surgeons never proved that the breast implants were the reason behind her illness, Michelle always believed that there could be a relationship between her breast implants.

The United States National Library of Medicine states that research has not conclusively demonstrated whether breast implants can result in autoimmune diseases. The National Women's Health Network, however, requests more long-term research because many of the women in these trials had breast implants for only a few months or years.

Following years of experimenting with different therapies to control her symptoms, the actress began to believe that her breast implants could be aggravating her disease. According to Visage, the biggest invaders in her body were two enormous lumps of silicone. She knew that these intruders possibly set off her autoimmune illness. She also heard of ladies who improved in health following the removal of their implants—a condition referred to as breast implant illness.

After some hesitation, the producer made the decision to have her breast implants removed through explant surgery. She felt that the implants were no longer an accurate representation of herself. After undergoing the breast reduction surgery on February 5, 2019, Visage reported that her recuperation was challenging and took four weeks to complete. After the breast reduction, she told People magazine that she felt strong and healthy for the first time.

The broadcaster felt like she was doing something to regain and reclaim her life and health. She wanted to be here for a long time to be with her children, and her husband, and to see her grandchildren. And her breast implants were certainly impeding her chances of that. Michelle Visage's decision to remove her breast implants was a personal one, but she has also spoken out about the need for more awareness about breast implant illness. She hopes that by sharing her story, she can help other women who may be experiencing similar symptoms.

Michelle Visage After the Breast Reduction!

After the breast reduction, Michelle Visage discussed in an open interview with People magazine how her choice to undergo breast reduction had a significant effect on her general well-being.

She reported feeling much less of the symptoms associated with Hashimoto's disease, including better sleep patterns, less joint discomfort, and more vitality. She also conveyed her thankfulness for accepting her natural physique and the resulting boost in confidence and self-acceptance.

The TV personality's story has provided compelling evidence of the advantages of breast implant removal for people dealing with autoimmune diseases and other medical conditions. Her candor about the experience has aided in increasing awareness of illnesses related to breast implants and inspired other women to consult a doctor if they have any doubts about the relationship between their implants and their health issues.

Apart from sharing her personal story, Michelle Visage also took part in the documentary Explant, which delves into the expanding group of women who support their autonomy to refuse breast implants. The movie chronicles other women's experiences who have seen changes in their health following implant removal, while also following her path through explant surgery.
