Does Joseph Quinn Actually Play Guitar? Did Eddie Munson Really Play Guitar in Stranger Things Season 4? Reddit Update!

Joseph Quinn, one of the cast members of Netflix's Stranger Things Season 4, was seen playing guitar in the season finale of the show. Based on the scene, some Reddit users wonder if he can actually play guitar. Joseph, 29, plays the role of Eddie Munson who is a music enthusiast. Well, the Game of Thrones star claimed that does can play guitar in an interview. Follow the article to know more about Joseph Quinn and his character in the Netflix show.

Even though the wait was only one month, many fans thought it was much longer. The final two episodes of Stranger Things season 4 are available on Netflix as of this weekend, with part 2 containing one 90-minute episode and a 2.5-hour finale that, in all honesty, seems to fly by.

Eddie Munson, played by Joseph Quinn, was the world's newest heartthrob when Stranger Things 4 premiered. Eddie, the Hellfire Club's leader, is a gold-hearted metalhead from the 1980s. The community of Hawkins considers Eddie responsible for the death of Chrissy Cunningham, a high school sweetheart, at the hands of Vecna, and Eddie then escapes.

In the season finale, the world's most metal concert has undoubtedly been performed by the outstanding Eddie Munson as a part of the plan to battle Vecna. And I believe I can say that the majority of us were equally as impressed as Dustin. On the other hand, some Reddit users wonder if Joseph Quinn actually played the guitar. Well, let's find the truth.

Previously, we touched on Natalia Dyer and Doja Cat.

Does Joseph Quinn Actually Play Guitar? Was Eddie Munson’s Scene of Playing Guitar in Stranger Things Season 4 Real? Reddit!

Scenes from part 1 make up the majority of the full-length Stranger Things 4 trailer. A few of the clips from the trailer, though, take place in the final two episodes of season 4.

One of them depicts Eddie Munson, played by Joseph Quinn (@josephquinn), sitting atop a van in the trailer park playing guitar where he currently resides, but it is situated in the Upside Down. Quinn actually has a great musical talent, which the Duffer Brothers were unaware of until they used it to enhance his portrayal of Eddie.

The Duffer brothers addressed episodes of Stranger Things 4 Part 2 with Entertainment Weekly, particularly Eddie's guitar moment. Matt Duffer stated,

"We cast Joe Quinn, not knowing he’s an incredible musician, as well as being this magnificent actor. So we were very lucky. I just remember that we texted him or called him and said, ‘Hey, by the way, can you play guitar?’ And he’s pretty modest, so he’s like, ‘Yeah, I’m pretty good.’ He’s more than pretty good. He’s amazing,”

The 29-year-old actor, who is based in London, made his Netflix debut on the popular series as Eddie Munson, the dungeon master and head of the Hellfire Club, Hawkins High's top D&D team.

Quinn obtained the role through music. Quinn's advantage was that he already played the guitar and still had a special love for the Gibson SG because of his admiration for Jack Black in the 2003 movie School of Rock. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, he explained,

"I've played since I was 7, and I've had huge breaks. I wouldn't consider myself a brilliant guitarist, but I can play it. That was very lucky because those scripts came out, I think, at some point in the pandemic. I did start practicing pretty furiously."

The Duffer brothers claimed that the performer worked on the performance for a long time. Those of us who have seen the episode is aware that it occurs in a crucial scene and is the third of the four phases the friends' team came up with to defeat Vecna.

And the song selection, I must say, was excellent. The song's words and the mood they created were perfect for the scene. So yeah, Joseph Quinn does actually play guitar and he played the guitar scenes with actual chords in the Netflix show.
