Did Marilyn Monroe Have Two Boyfriends? Did She Have an Affair With Charlie Chaplin Jr. And Edward Robinson Jr. At the Same Time? Blonde Update!

According to Netflix's Blonde, Marilyn Monroe had two boyfriends, Charlie Chaplin Jr./Cass Chaplin and Edward Robinson Jr., at the same time. She did have an affair with both of them. However, it is unclear if she really was in a relationship with both of them at the same time. Follow to know about Marilyn Monroe's relationship with them.

More than 60 years after her death in 1962, Marilyn Monroe's life is once again sweeping over the big screen in the new Netflix movie titled Blonde, starring Ana de Armas. The film provides a glimpse into Monroe's private and scandalous life. The film examines her relationships, affairs, marriages, and the failures of all three, in addition to her job and personal life.

One of the main plotlines of the movie centers on Monroe's connection with Charlie Chaplin Jr., also known as Cass Chaplin, the oldest son of the legendary Charlie Chaplin, and Edward G. Robinson Jr., also known as Eddy, the son of Edward G. Robinson, winner of the Academy Honorary Award.

Viewers may be curious as to whether Marilyn Monroe actually had relationships with Cass and Eddy since the movie is a fictitious depiction of one of history's most famous people. They wonder if she really had two boyfriends at the same time like in the movie. Well, let's find it out.

Marilyn Monroe Reportedly Did Have Two Boyfriends at the Same Time: Her Relationship With Charlie Chaplin Jr. And Edward Robinson Jr. Explored; Blonde Update!

Marilyn Monroe really had two boyfriends. She reportedly had affair with both Edward Robinson Jr. and Charlie Chaplin's son, Charlie Chaplin Jr. aka Cass Chaplin, at the same time. While the majority of her biographers make few significant revelations about the actress, Pulitzer Prize finalist Anthony Summers' Goddess: The Secret Lives of Marilyn Monroe offers an insight into the rumored relationship the actress had with the two actors.

Summers' biography claims that in 1947, after inviting Monroe over for lunch, Cass introduced her to his family. This connection was confirmed by Cass in his autobiography, My Father, Charlie Chaplin. Charlie Chaplin was impressed by Monroe. In his autobiography, Cass wrote, "Oh, she’s a beauty,’ Dad [Charlie Chaplin] used to tell me. ‘What a figure! I admire your taste, son, very much.'"

He further added that Charlie Chapli had also warned him not to fall in love with her.  He wrote,

Just watch out, son,’ he [Chaplin] said. ‘Don’t fall in love yet. You have that education to take care of first.

Summers' book also digs into Cass and Monroe's obvious romantic relationship. In the same book, he wrote, "According to Arthur James, long a close friend of Chaplin, Marilyn would stay the night with Charlie. She would cram into a single bed with him, while brother Sydney slept in his bed in the same room." The relationship ultimately ended, according to the biographer, following an allegedly startling occurrence.

James, Summers' source, claims that Marilyn had an abortion after getting pregnant while seeing Charlie. There isn't enough solid proof, however, to prove that Monroe actually had an abortion.

Similarly, there is some truth to the stories about Marilyn's relationship with Edward, according to Summers. She met him through Cass, and the encounter is said to have opened the door to an affair. In Goddess: The Secret Lives of Marilyn Monroe, Summers writes, "James said Marilyn met Robinson through a mutual friendship with another son with a famous name — Charlie Chaplin, Jr., Marilyn’s former lover."

Summers continued, "The acquaintance became an affair during Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. In 1953 Robinson was nineteen, something of a hell-raiser, and chasing older women. Marilyn was one of them, according to Robinson’s friend Arthur James and his last wife, Nan Morris. ."  Monroe and Eddy's alleged affair, however, did not last long. Summers stated that "Any passion in the Robinson affair was soon spent, and turned to friendship."

James also claimed that Marilyn and Cass and Eddy were great friends. According to the book, James told Summers, "They were all depressives, Marilyn, Charlie, and Eddie, and they would hunt each other down when things were bad. She was very dear to both of them, and they would try to help." However, it is still unclear if Marilyn Monroe had two boyfriends at the same time as shown in Netflix's Blonde.

Additionally, Blonde is now streaming on Netflix.
