Colin Kaepernick's Siblings Include Kyle and Devon Kaepernick

Colin Kaepernick's siblings include Kyle Kaepernick (brother) and Devon Kaepernick (sister). His family is explored on Colin in Black and White on Netflix.

Even people who don't follow football religiously will recognize his name. Colin Kaepernick is the American civil rights icon who also played a quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers in the National Football League for six seasons.

While any football viewer would have identified him, he received huge rampant exposure prior to the start of a pivotal game in 2016.

In opposition to police barbarity and racial discrimination in the United States, he took a knee during the national anthem.

He made a number of headlines before leaving the sport altogether to place more emphasis on lifting visibility and enabling change in the face of prevailing concerns.

Netflix released a limited show called Colin in Black & White in October, which is a fictionalized drama based on his adolescence.

Audiences who have seen it have become intrigued about the family of the Wisconsin-born personality. So, let's get to know Colin Kaepernick's siblings in this section today.

Who are Colin Kaepernick's Siblings?

Colin Kaepernick was adopted at the age of five weeks and became a new member of Rick and Teresa Kaepernick's household. Prior to his adoption, they already parented a son and a daughter, Kyle & Devon.

The pair had previously lost two sons, Lance and Kent, who died at birth from genetically inherited cardiac failure. Despite Colin's popularity, not much is known about Kyle and Devon; presumably, they simply prefer their privacy.

Based on little that is known, both are said to live in California and have degrees from California Polytechnic State University.

Devon's Instagram account indicates that she tied the knot in late 2013, and shares two children. She has celebrated Colin's accomplishments on her Instagram loads of times.

There are also grounds to think Kyle is a married man because Colin's got a sister-in-law named Lindsay.

Colin Kaepernick's Family is White

Colin Kaepernick's adoptive parents are White, and he spoke with Ebony about growing older Black in the Kaepernick family.

He said:

I wouldn’t say I have regrets. I don’t like to look at things that way, because I feel like that’s part of our journey and path of where we need to go. [O]ne of the pieces of being Black and being adopted into a white family [is that there] are conversations that I just couldn’t have or didn’t feel comfortable having.

Colin wishes he had a mentor to talk to in those instances to be able to have those interactions to help him better navigate what he was experiencing at the time.

Will There Be Colin in Black and White Season 2?

The short answer is no. Colin in Black & White Season 2 has not been announced.

However, it was advertised from the beginning as a miniseries, so there's no reason to think more episodes outside the six we've already seen will air.

However, with Colin's storyline continuing in real life, it's not unreasonable to think that someone might want to make another limited series about his activism in the future.

Colin in Black & White is currently streaming on Netflix.
