Benjamin Arellano Félix is now imprisoned in USP Lee in Virginia. Benjamin was apprehended by the Mexican Army in March 2002 on drug smuggling and organized crime accusations.
His capture, which had a $2 million reward at the time, came just a month after his sibling Ramón was shot during a police gunfight in February of that year.
He was condemned to 22 years in prison at first, but after only nine years, Benjamin was deported to the United States to face new accusations for heading the Tijuana Cartel.
