Brie and Franco, one of Hollywood's most private and low-key couples, started dating in 2011 after meeting at Mardi Gras. Brie said that a friend of theirs set them up during an interview on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon in 2020.
The two then appeared on-screen together in a Funny Or Die skit called Dream Girl. In 2015, the two got engaged. In a now-deleted post on his Instagram account, James Franco made the announcement about their engagement.
