Later, Megan shared a lengthy caption on Instagram, clearing the air of several misconceptions. She said, "I usually don’t address internet bullsh*t but y’all people are so sick! God was really watching over me and I’m healing so well! Sorry I’m not a*s sad and miserable as a lot of y’all lol but ima keep being Megan Thee Mf STALLION."
On July 12, 2020, police transported the Savage rapper to Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles, where she was admitted under a pseudonym. The report states that she was attentive, oriented, and breathing normally at the time of admission. Before a more thorough examination, she had a noticeable minor incision on her rear ankle with no current bleeding.
Throughout the investigation, Megan Thee Stallion appeared to suppress information from multiple officials about how she sustained her injuries. She initially informed investigators that she was strolling through a party when she heard a loud boom and fled, believing she had walked on glass.
Although she was frequently queried about her injuries at the emergency department, she claimed she had never heard a gunshot and did not believe there were bullets present at first. However, the report adds that the initial X-rays revealed bullet fragments in both of her ankles.
Later, Megan Thee Stallion told Gayle King on CBS Mornings that she originally didn't inform the police that Lanez allegedly shot her because she was afraid for her safety, given the timing of the George Floyd murder. She sobbed as she said, “The police are definitely very much shoot first, ask questions after, so I’m, like, it’s [sic] a hot gun in the car, I’m bleeding, I’ve been shot, they [the police] are about to kill somebody.”
She alleged to King that physicians did not inform her that she had bullets in both of her feet until police had left the hospital grounds. According to an individual who spoke with Page Six, she told doctors the full version of the night's events as they discussed the prospect of surgery.
The surgery resulted in three bullet fragments being saved, packaged according to standard protocol, and passed off to appropriate authorities. Furthermore, the report also claims that tiny fragments of retained missiles were deemed too small to attempt retrieval, implying that parts of the bullets remain in Megan Thee Stallion's feet to this day. She was later discharged from the hospital on July 16, 2020.

In her new single Hiss, the singer raps, "These h*** don't be mad at Megan, these h*** mad at Megan's Law, I don't really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y'all don't want me to start." This has prompted outrage from Kanka's father who called the lyrics "disrespectful and offensive.”
For Megan Kanka's father, seeing his daughter's name thrown into Megan Thee Stallion's explicit Nicki Minaj diss tune is the ultimate insult. Even though the song is intended to raise awareness of Megan's Law, he remains angry. He is profoundly angered by the overt and disrespectful usage of his daughter's name. According to the chat, he has not listened to the complete recording, but he considers the lines alone to be a breach.
