Alejandro Hodoyan Palacios aka Alex Hodoyan features on Narcos Mexico Season 3. Actor Lorenzo Ferro plays the role. Did he die in real life? Facts about Alex Hodoyan's Wikipedia and death.
What transpired with Alex Hodoyan (Lorenzo Ferro) in Narcos: Mexico Season 3? The third season of the Narcos spinoff was the series's final season, although it added lots of new characters (in particular, Andrea Nunez and David Barron), including Alex.
So, what exactly is Alex's part in Narcos: Mexico? Did he bite the dust by the end of Season 3? All of these and more will be explained further down.
Who is Alex Hodoyan in Narcos Mexico?
Alex Hodoyan is a regular adolescent from Tijuana. His life is turned upside down when he joins Ramón Arellano Félix's Narco Juniors gang.
Alex's own brother Alfredo assists him in joining the gang, which does not end well for Alex. To be fair, he does decent in the group after a rocky start and is even assigned crucial jobs and tasks to complete.
However, Alex is ultimately apprehended by Mexican authorities, who subsequently turn him over to the Drug Enforcement Administration, or DEA.
The Mexican authorities were able to turn Alex over to the DEA because he held dual Mexican and American citizenship.
Does Alex Really Die in Narcos Mexico? His Death Explored!
Unfortunately, Alex Hodoyan's problems do not end with the DEA. Alex is persuaded to speak against the Arellano Félix siblings and the Tijuana gang by Agent Walt Breslin (Scoot McNairy).
Meanwhile, Alex's brother Alfredo is brutally murdered by the cartel, preventing him from testifying against them as well.
Nonetheless, Alex wishes to return to Mexico. Walt vehemently discourages it. He cautions Alex that traveling to Mexico will almost certainly be disastrous to him. Sadly, Alex does not listen to Walt, and as a result, he loses his life.
Despite the fact that Alex never testified against the Tijuana cartel, he ends up getting assassinated by them. What's the reason? Alex eventually escapes the DEA's grasp a day prior to trial and returns to Mexico.
Walt's forewarning came true. Alex is brutally killed by the cartel, and his body is hanging on an overpass following his death.
Is Alex Hodoyan Based on a Real Person?
Many of the personalities in Narcos: Mexico are modeled on real-life individuals. One of these characters is Alex Hodoyan. Per a PBS story, Alex did return to Tijuana.
He was abducted a few days later while traveling with his mother and hasn't been witnessed since, therefore it's assumed that the real-life Alex Hodoyan is also dead.
Alex was invited to join the witness protection initiative in return for his evidence against the cartel, per the same PBS article.
Alex was frightened of having to testify against his brother (yes, Alfredo was indeed a real individual, but he wasn't murdered like in Narcos: Mexico), so he left his secure San Diego hotel haven to travel to Tijuana.
