According to FBI files, Jeffrey Dahmer lived in his house at Oxford Apartments at 924 North 25th Street, Apartment 213, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Additionally, he spent some time living at his grandmother's house, which is located at 2357 S 57th Street in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Dahmer mostly targeted gay men of color who he met at local bus stations, clubs, shopping centers, and adult bookstores. According to The New York Times, he would get the men to join him by offering beer or cash in exchange for them appearing naked. Dahmer would then drug the drinks of his victims before killing them. The newspaper at the time stated that he kept the body parts of many victims in his refrigerator and even consumed some of their parts. After being apprehended, Dahmer gave the police an explanation by saying, "I didn't want them to leave."
While living at the Oxford Apartments, Sopa Princewill, the building manager, received numerous complaints from his neighbors. Strange smells, stuff dropping, and even the sound of a chainsaw were all reported by the locals. But when questioned, Jeffrey Dahmer offered a bevy of explanations and justifications for the sounds and smells. He claimed that either his tropical fish had perished or his freezer had broken, causing the food to rot. The management didn't report the strange odors or noises to the authorities.
According to The New York Times, Dahmer's apartment was filled with weapons, which led law enforcement to believe it was a killing factory. Police discovered a barrel of hydrochloric acid, which he used to dissolve the men's bodies and preserve their skeletons, as well as ether and chloroform, which were likely used to sedate his victims. Three torsos were decomposing inside the 57-gallon barrel, according to the cops.

The Campus Circle Project, the owner of the apartments where Jeffrey Dahmer lived, decided to demolish the 49-unit Oxford complex in order to help the community. On November 16, 1992—the same year Dahmer was sentenced to 16 life terms in prison for his crimes—the demolition work got underway.
As of now, there are some trees and grass where Jeffrey Dahmer's apartment building formerly stood.
