Virgin River: Who Is Stacie? What Is Mark’s Sister’s Role in Season 4; Meet Stacie Cast/Actress, Melinda Dahl, on Instagram!
Stacie Monroe appeared in the appropriately named episode Bombshells, where secrets were revealed. She is the sister-in-law of Mel Monroe, with whom she had a previous argument when she first arrived in Virgin River.
Stacie is the sister of Mark Monroe and fiercely protects the memory of her late brother. She asked Mel to give her Mark's engagement ring when she first arrived in Virgin River. The grandmother of Mark and Stacie believed the engagement ring should remain in the family.
Mel received a call from Stacie in Season 4, wanting to catch up with her. After Mel was unsuccessfully trying to approach Jack Sheridan, who was going through a difficult period and had turned to alcohol to cope with a deep-seated trauma, Stacie's timing wasn't ideal.
When Stacie and Mel finally caught up, the nurse's sister-in-law apologized for her demands for the engagement ring. Stacie even disclosed that she intended to give her daughter the name Monroe in honor of Mark. She also made a surprising discovery when she claimed that her mother hired a lawyer to pursue custody of Mel's final two embryos.
Fans can recall that Mark and Mel had gone through numerous rounds of IVF and had been trying desperately to get pregnant without much progress. Even the final dispute he had with Mel before he passed away concerned whether to continue IVF or stop, with Mel wanting to keep going.
If Mel's ex-mother-in-law is granted custody, she would be parenting the child, giving her the opportunity to become Mark's grandma. This meant that in order to determine where to go in the event that legal action was necessary, Mel and Jack had to undergo a paternity test to determine who the baby's father was.
Despite Jack's initial hesitation to accept, Mel eventually learned that the couple was having a girl and that the child wasn't actually Mark's.
Melinda Dahl (@melindadahlofficial) has been portraying the role of Stacie since 2019, however, she began her acting career in 2001 with the tv show Exhibit A: Secrets of Forensic Science. The 38-year-old has acted in a number of well-known TV series throughout the course of her career, including House, Bones, and CSI: NY, before going on to star in The Romanoffs, Loudermilk, and ultimately Virgin River.
After receiving two renewals from Netflix around series three, season five of Virgin River has already been announced. The issues surrounding Mel and Jack's baby and Jack's past issues are probably going to be addressed in the upcoming season. Stacie might return to town to wish Mel well after giving birth, but her mother-in-law might also show up.
Even if she is not the biological grandmother, perhaps Mel's mother-in-law will want to be involved in this child's life. Fans will have to wait and see what happens for the time being as the series changes from the novels and the show has only recently begun production.
