Whose Baby Is Mel Carrying on Virgin River? Season 4 Update!

Virgin River Season 4 which dropped on Netflix on July 20, 2022, has led fans to wonder whose baby is Mel carrying on Virgin River and many long-awaited questions, including whether Jack (Martin Henderson) is the father of Mel's (Alexandra Breckenridge) baby or Mark (Daniel Gillies) Mel's recently passed away husband.

In the Season 3 finale of Virgin River on Netflix, when Jack and Mel Monroe appeared to be in a good place as a couple, they were dealt another show-worthy twist. Mel revealed that she was pregnant and that Jack might not be the father — Jack was about to propose. The nurse practitioner relocated to a small California town in order to recover after she recently lost her husband, Mark, in a car accident.

Mel Monroe met Jack (Martin Henderson), a Marine veteran and bar owner, on the first day of her relocation. They had an undeniable bond although he had a girlfriend. Mel and Jack's relationship has been on-again, off-again, which is complicated by the fact that Jack's ex, Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley), is pregnant with his twins.

However, Mel and Jack split up in Season 3 because they have opposing views on the future: Mel wanted a child, but Jack is overwhelmed by the prospect of raising three children while running a business. Mel decided to take a different approach to motherhood. She returns to the clinic where she and Mark had IVF and requests that the last two embryos be used.

Soon after, she returns to Virgin River and reconciles with Jack. These events, which occurred so quickly, made Mel wonder: Who is the baby's father? So, follow this article to know whose baby is Mel carrying on the Virgin River.

Previously, we touched on Hope, Nate, Jimmy, Stacie, Lilly, Preacher, and Deputy Howard.

Whose Baby Is Mel Carrying on Virgin River: Here Is All You Need to Know!

Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) receives paperwork with information about the child she's carrying, including the identity of the father, in the Season 4 finale of Virgin River. She is initially hesitant to open the paperwork. Moreover, Monroe claims that she doesn't need to know. Jack, on the other hand, is curious. They have a grounding conversation before opening the email in which they affirm that the contents of the email don't matter: they're all in this together.

Jack, like many Virgin River fans, struggles to understand medical use. Mel's medical degree comes in handy yet again here. Jack had struggled with the prospect of becoming a father again — and with Mel having another man's child. However, before Mel reveals the paternity test results, he assures her that he will love her child no matter what. Jack and Mel get engaged before she reveals the paternity test results, so the findings are just icing on the wedding cake.

Meanwhile, Mel and her ex-husband had been trying IVF treatments at a Los Angeles clinic before her husband Mark (Daniel Gillies) died. Mel decides to use one of the two remaining embryos from previous treatments to try to conceive. On the other hand, Mel slept with Jack shortly after the IVF procedure, which explains her "Who's the daddy?" confusion.

In any case, the child will be with a man she adores, right? The long-awaited final father reveal on Virgin River doesn't happen until the Season 4 finale, but trust us when we say it's well worth the wait.

But Who Is the Father of Charmaine’s Twins?

This revelation did not surprise all fans: Jack not being the father of Charmaine's twins had long been suspected. But who is it? Is it her husband, Todd? Is it one of the other men on the show or someone new? Or did she, like Mel, undergo IVF? The fact that Jack was the father of Charmaine's twins was the main reason Jack was hesitant to have children with Mel in the first place.

Todd's (Patrick Sabongui) children cannot be theirs because he entered the picture after Charmaine became pregnant. There are several theories about who the real father is, with some fans speculating that it could be Brady (Ben Hollingsworth). Brady and Charmaine appeared to become close after spending some time together at a party in the second season.

In the Virgin River Season 4 cliffhanger, Charmaine admits that Jack is not the father of her twins. She truly believes she is being punished for lying about it for so long. So, who is the biological father? Virgin River, thankfully, has already been renewed for a fifth season by Netflix! While we wait for answers in Virgin River Season 5, you can binge-watch all four juicy seasons on Netflix right now.
