Yu Ominae’s Red Eyes Meaning: The Spriggan Soldier Might Have Some Hidden Powers!

Yu Ominae, the leading character from Netflix's Spriggan, shows his red eyes during the battle and viewers are curious to know its meaning. Well, the actual meaning has not been revealed yet in Season 1 of the show, however, we can assume the eyes reflect the powers or rage he got when he was an assassin during his childhood. Furthermore, the series/anime is based on a manga by Hiroshi Takashige. Follow the article to know more about Yu Ominae's red eyes, the ending of the show, and what we can expect in Season 2.

Based on the same-named manga series by Hiroshi Takashige and illustrated by Ryoji Minagawa, Spriggan is a unique sci-fi action animation on Netflix. The story revolves around Yu Ominae, a 17-year-old high school student who tries to balance his life between being a normal teenager and working as a Spriggan

Spriggan is an elite soldier for the ARCAM Foundation, a global organization that finds and secures or, if necessary, seals off or destroys potent artifacts from ancient civilizations. Even though Yu is one of ARCAM's top agents, he is still a young man who longs to interact with other students at his little-visited school.

Moreover, many viewers are confused about the red spark in Yu Ominae's eyes. The spark was seen throughout the series. Many viewers wonder about it's everything. Well, here is everything we know so far.

Spriggan: Real Meaning of Yu Ominae’s Red Eyes; Powers, Ending & Season 2!

An underground group has obtained a legendary weapon, and the season begins with them. Yu Ominae, a young boy, is assigned the mission of capturing the group and making sure the weapon is not in use. Working for an organization called ARCAM, Yu Ominae is in charge of gathering all of the found ancient weapons.

Following its discovery, organized crime organizations started to skulk around looking for these weapons to boost their powers. It is Yu Ominae's responsibility to capture these criminals and securely transport the weapons back to the ARCAM prison.

During the mission, Yu Ominae's eyes turn out red time and again when he battling. Many viewers are curious about its actual meaning. Well, the show itself hasn't clarified yet about the meaning, but many Reddit users have slight ideas on what it could be about.

One user wrote, "Just my theory from the flashback but I think Yu was raised as a child soldier and did a lot of killing. When he's under extreme stress/life or death situations."

Another wrote, "If it gets a new season it will explain later. But pretty much is something that trigger inside him in pressure moments, this comes from the time he was a kid. I disappointed they didn't show too much of it. Because even the old Movie has some scenes of it. But they hinted more with the post credits scene."

Our team did research as well. We think it is connected to something he was an assassin kid. The 1998 original movie shows some of his stories as a kid. However, we have to wait for the next season to confirm our speculation.

Yu's school is the scene of the second act in the post-credits sequence of the show. Yu's repeated absences from school are discussed by the Sasahara twins. At the school gate, the previous soldier reappears, this time sporting the school's outfit.

The colonel orders him to "assassinate Number 43. Also known as, Yu Ominae." The soldier's eyes turn red at the ending, suggesting that he might possess abilities comparable to those of Yu and other Spriggans. Therefore, it seems like Spriggan has a lot to show and explain in Season 2 of the season( if gets renewed).
