After Kit Connor's flawless portrayal of Nicholas 'Nick' Nelson in the British coming-of-age love drama Heartstopper, many people assumed Kit Connor was gay.
In the sense that, unlike other high school dramas that center on drugs, crime, and other similar topics, Heartstopper exposes the LGBTQ+ community and people who must overcome several difficulties in order to be accepted by society.
As the narrative unfolds, Kit falls in love with an openly homosexual classmate, Charlie, and flaunts his love life without concern for public opinion which is why some viewers speculated that he might be gay in real life as well.
Kit Connor (@kit.connor) has not publicly acknowledged his sexuality in real life, unlike his character Nick, despite appearing in far too many gay-themed productions. Despite this, the actor has spoken out against Nick, the character he plays in the Netflix series.
Connor acknowledges the value of Nick's narrative, as he previously indicated, especially in light of how little attention bisexuals have received in television shows, films, and other forms of storytelling. In an interview with Metro, Kit Connor said,
I think male bisexuality is even less represented. It’s a real honor to be able to play Nick because it’s such an underrepresented kind of character, really.

Which Heartstopper Book is the Netflix Show Based On?
The graphic novel Heartstopper presently has four volumes, with the fifth and final volume set to be released in February 2023. Tori Spring, Charlie's elder sister, appears as a minor character in Heartstopper, played by Jenny Walser, in Oseman's debut novel Solitaire.
Solitaire, as Oseman explains on their website, has a completely different tone from Heartstopper and deals with more tough and mature issues. Heartstopper may be followed without having read Solitaire.
Charlie and Nick, a Heartstopper novella, was also released in 2020. (after first coming out as a Solitaire e-book in 2015, along with This Winter, which follows the character of Tori Spring). A Heartstopper coloring book is also available, as well as a Yearbook with additional content, which will be released in hardback in October 2022.
The Netflix series' eight half-hour episodes cover events from the first two Heartstopper volumes. If recommissioned, the next two volumes will most likely be adapted for another series, leaving the fifth and final book (due out in February 2023) for a future series or special.
