Similar to Love Is Blind, Netflix is bringing back a spinoff of the popular dating show with The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On. Six couples are determined to change the status of their relationship in the new series, which premiered on the streaming platform on Wednesday, April 6.
In general, one of the partners is eager to marry, while the other is unsure. As a consequence, the partner who is ready to say "I do" has issued an ultimatum.
The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On, hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey, airs in staggered installments, similar to Love Is Blind. Episodes 1-8 are presently available to stream on Netflix, with Episodes 9 and 10 coming out on Wednesday, April 13.
Despite their similarities, The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On and Love Is Blind are two quite distinct experiments. The show puts each of their relationships to the test by separating them for a few weeks, pairing them up with another cast member for a few weeks, and then reuniting for the same period of time.

April Marie (@itsaprilmarie), a tech recruiter and influencer, wants to marry her partner as soon as possible, but Jake Cunningham (@itsjakecunningham), a Marine Corps veteran, wants to travel and establish himself financially before proposing.
In one of the episodes of The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On, April tells, "I just want a ring and I want a baby with you, now."
Madlyn Riley Ballatori and Colby Kissinger
Madlyn Riley Ballatori (@madlynballatori), 24, and Colby Kissinger (@colby_kiss), 25, met in college and have been dating for a year and a half, but something is holding them back. Jake issued the ultimatum and stated that he is 100% in.
While Madlyn, the project manager, loves Colby, the sales director, she also states, "I don't believe in there only being one person for everybody. Do I believe there's a possibility I could be happy with someone else? Yes."
Rae Williams and Zay Wilson
Rae Williams (@rae.williams), an HBCU graduate, is ready to continue her life plan and marry now that she's graduated from college, but her two-year boyfriend, club promoter and influencer, Zay Wilson (@theofficialzaywilson), isn't ready to make the leap.
Zay mentions her case in her introduction to The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On, "We have dated through college and I have graduated and I have everything planned out in my life. Zay has the full package with me because I stay in the gym, I have a degree, I cook, I clean, and I know how to f&&k. "
Shanique Imari and Randall Griffin
The owner of a clothing brand Shanique Imari (@shaniqueimari), 24, and Randall Griffin (@rl_griffin), a tech analyst, have been dating for a year and a half, and Shanique is looking forward to a big wedding and family.
On the other hand, as Randall says on the show, "I think it'd be best to just get rid of some debt I have in my past, in order to have a great life for her. That's ultimately my reason but she doesn't understand that."
Alexis Maloney and Hunter Parr
Alexis Maloney (@alexiselainemaloney), a fashion influencer, is ready to marry her two-year boyfriend, Hunter Parr (@papa_parr), a software businessman, but he simply wants to live together.
Alexis explains on the broadcast, "I initiated the conversation with Hunter about an ultimatum. I'm ready to take the next step and I basically told Hunter that we either get engaged or we break up...I want what I want. And that's a ring."
Nathan Ruggles and Lauren Pounds
A real estate executive Nate Ruggles (@nathan_ruggles), 30, and, Lauren Pounds (@laurenkilos), 26, a cocktail mixer, have been together for two and a half years, but they have a major disagreement: Nate wants children, while Lauren does not. He gave them an ultimatum to see whether they could go on.
