Netflix has a new reality show called Is It Cake?. It's an attempt to cash in on the cake trompe l'oeil trend, which has been around for a long time but has exploded on social media in the form of videos in which people cut into objects that don't look like cake.

What's more, guess what? They turn out to be a piece of cake. It's a difficult concept to turn into a reality show because there's not much there, except that what's there always ends up being cake.

Netflix went on a global search for exceptional bakers who were making cakes that didn't seem like cakes. We're talking about cheeseburgers, animals, and possibly even a real person, but who is to judge these fake foods?

Each episode has a new set of judges. Brittany Broski made an appearance as a judge in one of the show's episodes. Continue reading to learn more about Brittany.

Here is What Actually Happens in Netflix's Is It Cake!

Is It Cake? is a new Netflix series that follows nine talented pastry chefs as they battle to make cakes that realistically imitate other objects in eight hours. The idea is based on a viral meme that began in July 2020 after a Tasty video of seemingly ordinary objects went viral on Twitter.

Each episode's purpose is for the bakers to trick three different celebrity judges. The judges get 20 seconds to look at each cake among the decoys. The baker is eliminated from that round if they correctly pick the baker's cake from the mix. If they don't guess the cake correctly, the baker might earn up to $10,000.

If more than one cake is incorrectly guessed in a round, the judges choose the winner based on the flavor and up-close appearance of the cake. The winning baker will receive $5,000 in addition to a chance to win another $5,000 if they can correctly identify which of the money-filled containers is truly cake.

And in the end, three bakers compete for the grand prize of a total of $50,000. Each episode features three competing bakers and the format of the competition changes during the eight-episode run. In most circumstances, the previous round's winning baker gets to choose who they will bake against in the next round.
