Anna Sorokin's Boyfriend: Is Chase Sikorski a Real Person?

New Netflix Original Inventing Anna shows Anna Sorokin's relationship with his boyfriend, Chase Sikorski. But is Chase based on a real-life character? Besides her boyfriend Chase and the popular Ted Talk, know about Anna Delvey's custody and where she is these days.

Inventing Anna is a Netflix series that explores the amazing story of Anna Sorokin, a woman who changed her name to Anna Delvey and pretended to be a wealthy heiress from Germany while scamming people.

The docuseries has a lot of characters who are based on actual individuals, but the trailer makes it apparent that some of them are completely made up.

That takes us to Anna's on-screen lover, Chase Sikorski, who was also portrayed as a con artist who scammed his investors. Is he, however, based on a real person, or was he introduced into the story for another reason? Here is everything we know about Anna's boyfriend.

Previously, we touched on filming locations, Rachel Deloache Williams, Alan Reed, Vivian Kent, and Chase Sikorski.

Inventing Anna Portrays Chase Sikorski as Anna Sorokin's Boyfriend, But is He Real? Where is He Now?

Chase appears in three (out of nine) episodes of Inventing Anna. He aims to be a tech billionaire and has developed an app called Wake that collects and crowdsources data from people's dreams.

He and Anna evidently have a nice love relationship, thus... Is Chase a real person or a fictitious character?

It's a bit difficult to say but according to a New York Magazine article detailing Anna's activities, Anna did have a boyfriend who worked in the IT industry. Anna's boyfriend was not identified, although he was characterized as "a futurist who'd been covered in The New Yorker" on the TED Talks circuit.

Anna and Chase worked together, showing up at places frequented by the itinerant wealthy, living out of fancy hotels, and organizing scenery dinners where the Futurist promoted his app and Delvey discussed the exclusive club she hoped to start once she turned 25 and received her trust fortune.

Hunter Lee Soik, who relocated to the Emirates and was previously highlighted in The New Yorker, is one of several real-life persons who have been mentioned as probable past lovers of Anna.

He's also given a TED Talk and had a dream database app called Shadow that never got off the ground—all of which appear to fit up with Anna's on-screen love interest. Still, it's just speculation at this time.

Anna clearly had a boyfriend who was working on an app at some time. Beyond that, it's evident that he doesn't want anything to do with her story—and that's fair.

Where is Anna Sorokin Now?

Anna Sorokin was found guilty of grand larceny and stealing services charges by a jury in May 2019. She was labeled as inmate #19G0366 and sent to Albion Correctional Facilities in upstate New York, where she was sentenced to four to twelve years in jail.

After completing three years of her four-to-12-year sentence, Sorokin was freed on parole in February 2021. Why was she released so quickly? Good manners.

Sorokin paid all her obligations as soon as she was released. She paid back the $200,000 she owed the banks with a share of the $320,000 she earned from Netflix for the rights to her life story. She had to pay an extra $25,000 in fines to the state of New York.

She moved into the NoMad Hotel in midtown Manhattan after paying off her debts and continued sharing beautiful images of her post-prison life on Instagram (@theannadelvey).

Anna gave several interviews and made a few controversial claims regarding her time in prison. She said her stay at Rikers was therapeutic on Good Morning America. She moved into a Manhattan apartment and began advertising a prospective new fashion collaboration with Paul Cupo, a former Hood By Air designer.

Sorokin was detained by immigration authorities in March 2021 for overstaying her visa. When she was originally released from jail, she had an immigration detainer on her name, but she was plainly not in any hurry to leave New York.

Sorokin was supposed to be deported back to Germany on March 26, but she is still in detention in the US because she filed an application for relief, which is basically legalese meaning "please don't make me go back to Germany".  Sorokin has requested asylum through her lawyer, Audrey Thomas.
