Kirsten Gillibrand's Weight Gain is Trending But Is It True?

Kirsten Gillibrand has sparked curiosity about her weight gain. She had gained and then lost weight after her pregnancy about a decade ago. But are there any recent developments in her weight that prompted the speculation? We have the answers.

Kirsten Elizabeth Gillibrand is an American lawyer and politician. She has represented New York serving as the junior United States senator since 2009. She served in Hillary Clinton’s US senate polls in 2000.

A member of the Democratic Party, she worked in the capacity of a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 2007 to 2009.

Meanwhile, she's currently making rounds over her physical transformation.

Previously, we've touched on the weight gain of Matt McGorry, Kim Chi, and Bob Saget.

Kirsten Gillibrand's Weight Gain: What's the Tea?

Kirsten Gillibrand is a name that is repeatedly being typed into the search bars on the internet recently. The politician seems to be living in everyone's heads rent-free for some reason. She was recently spotted strolling maskless in the city.

Could that be the reason why she is in the news and the search bars for the last few days? But if she was just strolling, then people would just be trolling and not searching. So, that does not make sense.

While it is not known what triggered people to search about her weight, she looks like she has put on some weight. In her latest Instagram posts, she is looking a bit puffy in the face, which might have prompted netizens to speculate about her weight, since she already had a sort of rocky relationship with weight. But there does not seem to be a very dramatic fluctuation in her weight.

She gave birth to her first child Theodore in 2004. Then, she had gained quite a lot of weight even post-pregnancy. So, she decided to get back in shape and it took her one year to do that. When she became a mother for the second time, Kirsten gained about twenty pounds.

As a working woman with kids, she often got lost in her work and her kids, and never had the time to look after herself. But after nursing her youngest child Henry after a year, she decided to take her health more seriously.

She took one hour every morning out of her schedule to go running. She also began playing tennis and squash and tried incorporating sports as a form of refreshment in her work by pitching for the bipartisan Congressional women's softball team.

The mother of two also kept a food journal and struggled to avoid eating off their children's plates. And her work paid off as she lost 40 pounds of pregnancy weight by the end of 2010.

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand is also noted for working to reduce childhood obesity. She had formed a plan to ban trans fats in school and provide healthier school lunches. As the first New York Senator in 40 years to sit on the Senate Agriculture Committee, Kirsten initiated a discussion about how to improve the health of children and the food they eat each day.

From her seat on the Committee, she worked to secure more federal funds for New York State to combat childhood obesity and lower health care costs. Gillibrand made comprehensive plans to address obesity for the long term and help New York children lead long, successful, healthy lives.

Kirsten Gillibrand: How Has Her Life Apart from Politics Been?

Kirsten Gillibrand was born on December 9, 1966, in Albany, New York. She studied to become a lawyer but later got into politics. She got her Juris Degree (a graduate-entry professional degree in law) from UCLA School of Law and passed the bar exam in 1991.

Kirsten met Jonathan Gillibrand, a venture capitalist and British national, on a blind date, who she ended up marrying in a Catholic church in Manhattan in 2001.

Jonathan had planned on staying in America for only a year while doing his Master of Business Administration at Columbia University, but he changed his plans after meeting her.

Kirsten has two sons with him, Theodore and Henry. The Gillibrands spend most of their time in Washington DC.

They sold their Hudson house and bought a new one in Brunswick to be closer to Kirsten's family in Albany in 2011. In 2020, they sold that too. And Kirsten said that her family was looking for a house in North Country.

In 2014, Kirsten published a memoir Off the Sidelines: Raise Your Voice, Change the World, which was noted for claims she made about sexism in the Senate, including comments made about her weight and appearance by other members of Congress.

The book debuted at number 8 on The New York Times Best Seller list for hardcover nonfiction.
