The principal characters of The Journalist will be played by Ryoko Yonekura, Go Ayano, and Ryusei Yokohama.

Ryoko Yonekura is a well-known actress and model from Yokohama, Japan. The 46-year-old actress started her professional career in 2000 and is most recognized for her roles in the hit medicine series Doctor X (2012), The Negotiator (2010), and Sakura no Sono (2008).

In the Japanese dub version of Marvel Cinematic Universe films, Yonekura also played Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow.

Go Ayano, a Japanese actor from Gifu, will appear alongside Ryoko. Gatchaman (2013), The Snow White Murder Case (2014), The Light Shine Only There (2014), Lupin The Third (2014), Rage (2016), and Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV (2016) are among his most well-known roles.

Finally, we've got Ryusei Yokohama, a Yokohama-born Japanese actor, model, and singer. He is popular for his role as Hikari Nonomura, alias ToQ 4gou, in the Super Sentai show Ressha Sentai ToQger, as well as Rainbow Days (2018), Cursed To Love (2018), and Your Eyes Tell It (2020).

What is The Journalist on Netflix About?

The Journalist is the latest Japanese drama thriller show based on the blockbuster 2019 motion picture, which was based on Isoko Mochizuki's 2017 novel of the same title.

At the Japan Academy Prizes, the 2019 film received multiple awards, most notably Picture of the Year, Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role, and Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role.

With its shocking tackling of societal taboos, thrilling developments, and stylish visuals, the film won awards in three major categories at the 43rd Japan Academy Awards, including Best Picture of the Year, as well as many other film awards.

The 2022 show follows Anna Matsuda, a youthful journalist from the Toto tabloid who is renowned as the renegade of mainstream press because she seeks to reveal difficulties in modern Japanese culture.

The Journalist was supposed to drop in 2021, but it was postponed and became available on Netflix on January 13th.
